About UsWe are Sudbury Youth Rocks Program. Our goal is to empower youth using music. Our WorkWe match youth referred through social service agencies with professional musicians who then teach them rudimentary concepts on guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and vocals. We then put them into groups have them entertain at local community events. This assists the participants with self-esteem/self worth issues, bullying, self-harm and assists to give them a sense of community while learning from positive role models. |

Can U C Me is a journey through the mind of a teenager. A young girl moves to a new school in a new town. The anticipation of starting a new school year is soon overshadowed when she gets on the wrong side of the school bully. Through the depression, thoughts of self-harm and suicide she rallies the rest of the school to teach her nemesis a lesson and turn the negative into a positive while gaining friends.
Our Goal
To create a rock opera in two acts. All the youth will compose music based on the theme as stated above. Scenes will be tied together with narrative songs also written by the youth. All songs will be written rehearsed and recorded by our team of professional musicians. Staging will be accomplished by making use of our artistic director and a professional choreographer.
